The Gaga FUQ (Frequently Unasked Questions):
----------------------------------------------------------------
What is this Gaga stuff all about?

I send out on a periodic basis various thoughts and ideas I have about a plethora of topics, ranging from economics to religion and EVERYTHING in between.

I've been doing this now for over 10 years now. The Spam Family is now at over 70 members representing people from Asia (India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China, South Korea), the Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Europe (Great Britain, Ireland), Switzerland, Australia, North America (Canada, USA, Mexico), Central America (Costa Rica), and South America (Brazil).

Every once and a while I ask the family members if they still like to receive the stuff I send them. To my surprise many still request the stuff.

Comments about my stuff range from "put a sock in it", "I hardly read what you write, but occasionally I do", to "it's the only real letters I get". Hmm. What you make of it is up to you. Have a read. If you like it, let me know. If not, tell me that too. I am not offended in the least should you sign off. It's better to tell me so I won't flood your email boxes with it if you don't want it. But give it a few installments before you sign off too soon in order to get the full flavour of what I write.

Why Gaga?

The full form is "Gaga Dhamma".

"Gaga"

Main Entry: ga·ga
Pronunciation: 'gä-(")gä
Function: adjective
Etymology: French, from gaga fool, of imitative origin
Date: 1920
1 : CRAZY, FOOLISH
2 : marked by wild enthusiasm

It also is the sound a duck makes in Japan. We in English say, "Quack, quack", the Japanese say "Ga ga".

So, I'm a crazy, foolish enthusiastic duck quacking away!!

"Dhamma" is the Pali word (the language allegedly spoken by the Gautama Buddha originating in North India) meaning "the truth", " the way it is", "suchness" and so on.

You may be more familiar with the Sanskrit term "Dharma", or perhaps Lao Tsu's "Tao", or some other term that means the same notion as dhamma.

So, the full name is Gaga Dhamma, a crazy duck quacking away on the path to truth.

(Believe me, the writings vary on and off the path, and I make no excuse nor apology for that. That is the way it is).
